In my book my favorite character is Jason. He is my favorite character becuase jason learns from his mistake in our book. He learns by his mistake beacuse he wanted to go to find gold but he didnt really have any idea what he was doing. In the begining of the book i thought that jason was in over his head and he did not know what he is getting in to, but now i think that he learned to his mistake. You should never try what you havent practiced. Jasom should have listened to his dad in the begining and not went on the trip at all. If i saw the guy drowning dogs i would have been really sad and just left becuase he killed himself also.

In Now Is The Time For Running my favorite character is Deo. He is my favorite character because Deo was trying his hardest to stay in Zimbabwe. He wants to go back to his home in Africa and stay with his parents. At the begining of the story Deo was very worried that he wasnt going to make it alive out of this camp. Alot of people that he knew did not make it to far and they died. Deo was very cautious when he was at this very mean camp. Many people weren't careful enough and they would make mistakes like, making the guards mad. They would then take them.At the end of the story Deo felt very acomplished beacuse she made it back to Africa. This girl in the camp helped him go back to his homeland and she took some valuable things from him. It was a big risk for Deo. Along this journey he was very nervous somebody was going to catch him. Nobody was ever insite though. Deo was very respectful to the girl that helped him out also.

1.     I am not a big fan of reading but, my favorite book is, “Now is the Time for Running” by Michael Williams.

2.     My favorite genre is Realistic Fiction.

3.       I am currently reading, Now is the time for Running. This book is about someone named Deo and he is in a place where everyone around him is very poor and he is stuck in a huge place with fence around it. He is forced to stay there but he really wants to get out and see his dad. He was from Africa and this “camp” is in South Africa. There is this woman that helps people escape because she doesn’t think this is right at all. The Theme in this story is to never give up. I think that this is the theme because Deo and his brother are getting ready to leave and go see their dad in Africa but they aren’t supposed to. Another reason why I think this is the theme in my story is because he loves soccer and someone took his ball and he ran after them and took it back. Some items that are significant to this story are the soccer ball and the food they eat. They don’t eat very much so they have to save a lot of food.
